Shipping Box Confusion is Real

Shipping Box Confusion is Real

There are many things in business that can be time-consuming and complicated.  We don't think choosing the correct shipping box for your business or next project should be.

There are multiple distinctions between boxes and we want to go over just a few of those to help cut down on the confusion.

The main thing to know is that all cardboard is not made alike.  What we call “cardboard boxes” are actually not shipping boxes at all!

The average cardboard box is actually a chipboard box and it's the type of box your cereal comes in. It is thin, can get soggy quickly when it gets wet, and is not very strong.  The shipping boxes we think of; like what our online shopping brings to our house or when we are moving, are actually corrugated boxes.

Corrugation is actually when there are rows of air columns and ridges which provide strength, flexibility, and cushion.  They look like little “squiggly line.”  So when you are looking at shipping boxes, you are actually buying a corrugated box.
