Moving Boxes- How Many Boxes Do You Need For Your Upcoming Move?

In a recent blog post, we talked about things that need to be done in advance of a move.  In today’s blog we’ll give you some guidelines for how many moving boxes and other moving supplies (bubble wrap, packing tape, etc.) you’ll need for your move based on the size of your home or apartment. 

 

  • College Dorm Room/Efficiency(Studio) Apartment
  • 5 small corrugated boxes (ex. 16x16x12)
  • 4 medium corrugated boxes (ex. 18x18x16)
  • 2 large corrugated boxes (ex. 18x18x24)
  • 1 150 ft. roll of bubble wrap (if packing a lot of electronics, also purchase anti-static bubble wrap)
  • 1 or 2 110-yard rolls of packaging tape

 

  • 1 Bedroom Apartment
  • 10 small corrugated boxes (ex. 16x12x12)
  • 6 medium corrugated boxes (ex. 18x18x16)
  • 5 large corrugated boxes (ex. 18x18x24)
  • 1 150 ft. roll of bubble wrap
  • 1 150 ft. roll of anti-static bubble wrap
  • 1 dish pack partition kit
  • 1 dish pack box (350# Double Wall)
  • 1 or 2 110 yard rolls of packaging tape
  • 1 tape dispenser

 

  • 2 or 3 Bedroom Apartment/Condo
  • 20 small corrugated boxes (ex. 16x16x12)
  • 8 medium corrugated boxes (ex. 18x18x16)
  • 8 Large corrugated boxes (ex. 18x18x24)
